The Gate's Pinter production is a fine homage to the writer but is lacking
excitement.

28/08/2008 - Review: Pinter at his best with a dark and brilliant
comedy
Harold Pinter's iconic drama 'No Man's Land' has arrived at the Gate Theatre
for a four-week run. The play, directed impeccably by Richard Goold, tells
the story of two aging writers who are united in their loneliness and need
for friendship. Spooner and Hirst meet on Hampstead Heath, which could be
the 'No Man's Land' of the title. We are never sure, since the story teaches
that all of us travel uncertainly in a 'No Man's Land' of our own.

Review: No Man's Land
With Harold Pinter in the audience, and the presence of Michael Gambon and
'Little Britain' star David Walliams on the boards, there was a palpable
sense of expectation on the opening night of Pinter's 'No Man's Land' at The
Gate. It's a play that has consumed the minds of academics as they attempt
to make sense of the author's surreal memories and their connection to the
present.

27/08/2008 - Premier of No Man's Land
Things turned out very well, with Pinter himself turning up. Rob Brydon and
Ardal O’ Hanlon were also there. Matt Lucas failed to show - he was seen at
George Michael’s party last night.
26/08/2008 - Little Brits please mums
Ex-Little Britain producer Geoff Posner tells me why two versions of the
show had to be made - the rude one for BBC3 and a cleaned-up one for BBC1.
"Its stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams wanted their mums to be able to
enjoy the clean version," he says. Posner adds: "We couldn't say words like
c**k on BBC1 so some sketches had to be filmed with different language."

24/08/2008 - Nick had a luck break
"In Harold Pinter's No Man's Land, Nick will be acting alongside David
Walliams of Little Britain fame, David Bradley, and Michael Gambon, whom he
believes is the greatest stage actor in the world. Three weeks ago, Pinter
himself was meant to come to a read-through of the play, but as he is
battling throat cancer, and is quite frail, it was arranged by director
Rupert Goold that the four of them would do the read-through at his house in
Notting Hill instead."

19/08/2008 - Ladies' man Ronnie Corbett turns seducer in new nursing
home sitcom
By the age of 77 many are ready to move into a care home - but not Ronnie
Corbett. Instead the hard-working comedian is preparing to star as a nursing
home Lothario in a new show. He will play the only man in a house full of
old women in the yet-to-be-titled new sitcom, which is being penned by
David Walliams.
The two became friends when Corbett worked on Little Britain Abroad in 2006,
starring in a sketch where Matt Lucas Bubbles DeVere character seduces him.
Walliams and Brydon are currently writing the sitcom just now, and Corbett
said he is pleased he still has a fanbase.

13/08/2008 - Matt Lucas' husband 'moves back in'
It looked like Matt Lucas's marriage could be on track again after his
partner Kevin McGee appeared to be moving back into their marital home. The
pair announced they were to divorce in June, having married 18 months
earlier in a lavish ceremony. They were said to have spent the last six
months of their relationship apart while Matt filmed the American version of
Little Britain in Los Angeles with David Walliams.
Yesterday Kevin had a broad smile on his face as he moved a large suitcase
and several bags back into their London home, sparking speculation their
relationship was on again. A divorce would make them the first gay celebrity
couple to split since the law was changed two years ago to allow same sex
wedding ceremonies.

10/08/2008 - David Walliams exclusive interview
David Walliams has won Baftas, sold millions of videos and is one half of
one of our most popular comedy duos. But for David, his greatest achievement
is swimming the Channel... because that was the day he made his parents
proudest. "I know some of my parents' friends think Little Britain is in
incredibly poor taste," he says. "But swimming the Channel? You can't really
say anything negative about that, can you?

A laydee wouldn't call her own cab...
David Walliams proved once and for all that he's in touch with his inner-laydee
today - when he stepped out in a busy London street dressed in drag. The
Little Britain comedian stunned onlookers when he hailed a cab while looking
like a glamorous Hollywood starlet from the 1940s. The 36-year-old courted
attention in high heels, an off-the-shoulder black dress, a fascinator on
his head and a cigarette holder protruding from his mouth. But bachelor
Walliams, who has a reputation as a ladies' man, hasn't started
cross-dressing in his spare time. The actor was playing a new comic
creation, whose name is currently unknown.

04/08/2008 - Matt Lucas and David Walliams as the next Ant and Dec?
The BBC is set to foil a daring raid by Michael Grade, the ITV boss, to
poach Matt Lucas and David Walliams, the Little Britain duo who have been
absent from UK screens while they transfer their cast of grotesques to
America.
Little Britain USA premieres next month on HBO, the cable channel that
launched Ali G into the American comedy consciousness. The lure of the US
means that Lucas and Walliams have not yet delivered a promised new series
under their £6 million BBC deal. If ITV could snap up the HBO series,
featuring new characters such as Phyllis, a barking-mad dog owner who hears
voices from her pooch, it would set the scene for a £20 million offer to
secure the duo as the next Ant and Dec.
Simon Fuller, the American Idol impresario who is guiding Little Britain
USA, said: “There is a lot of UK interest but Matt and David feel a loyalty
to the BBC.” The pair want the series to air here in October before the best
clips drive millions of viewers to YouTube.
